Biography of Emeka Ihedioha

Emeka Ihedioha was born on the 24th of March, 1965 and he grew up in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State where he also had his early primary education. He attended the Town School Mbutu and proceeded to the SDA Primary School in Abule Oja, Yaba Lagos where he completed his primary education in 1976.
Emeka Ihedioha, after his primary school education returned back to the East for his secondary school education and he attended the St. Ephraim's Secondary School, Owerrinta (presently in Abia State).
After his secondary school education, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha moved to Lagos for his University education after successful securing an admission with the University of Lagos, Akoka-Yaba. 

Emeka Ihedioha's Education and Early Life

Emeka Ihedioha started his early primary school education at the Town School Mbutu and proceeded to the SDA Primary School in Abule Oja in Lagos State. AFter successfully writing his common entrance examinations, he proceeded to the St. Ephraim's Secondary School, Owerrinta which is located in the present Abia State.
He successfully gained admission to study Food Science and Technology with the popular University of Lagos (UNiLag) and finished in 1988.
Hon. Emeka Ihdioha also possesses two certificates from renowned universities of the world:
• A leadership certificate course from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University
• An executive certificate course in financial management from the Stanford University

Emeka Ihedioha's Political Career

Emeka Ihedioha has handled several positions and offices in the Nigeria political system. In 1992, he was appointed as the press officer to hief Iyorchia Ayu, the then senate president of the FRN. In 1993, a year after his appointment, he also gained another position as the chief press secretary to the Deputy Senate President.
In November 1993, following the military incursion in the polity, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha returned to his former job as the CEO of First Page Communications and in 1998, he became the People's Democratic Movement (PDM) Director of Publicity. This also helped in his political career as the People's Democratic Movement was the purveyor of the PDP which later became the ruling party.
Emeka Ihedioha in July 1999 became special assistant (SA) to the Presidential Adviser on Utilities, in November 1999, he became the special assistant of media and publicity and in September 2001, he became the special assistant to the then Vice President on political maters.

In 2003, Emeka Ihedioha contested for the seat into the House of Representatives and won, threby representing Aboh-Mbasie-Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency of Imo State. He served as the deputy speaker of the House of representatives from 2011 to 2015 and then stepped down to contest as the Imo State governor.
Emeka Ihedioha was announced winner of the 2019 election and on the 30th of May, sworn in as the governor of Imo State.

Aside politics, Emeka Ihedioha is also into real estate and has investments in a lot of hotels and oil industries. He also partakes in industrial farming with a lot of other businesses.
Emeka Ihedioha is happily married to Mrs. Ebere Ihedioha and the have four children, Emeka (jnr.) Ihedioha, Ezinwa Ihedioha, Nkem Ihedioha and Kamsi Ihedioha.

Emeka Ihedioha's Awards and recognition

Emeka Ihedioha has won several awards in Imo State and beyond. Some of them include:
• Most Outstanding Maritime Legislator by the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria
• Distinguished Service Award from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and recently as One of Nigeria's top 50 Most Outstanding Legislators
• Knight of the order of St. Christopher of the Anglican Communion
• He has also gotten a lot of chieftaincy titles
