Godwin Maduka Biography and Education

Godwin Maduka was born on the 20th of June, 1959 in Nkerehi (was changed from Nkerehi 'taking a cow by force' to Umuchukwu 'children of God'), Anambra State, Nigeria. After attending the Nawfia Comprehensive Secondary School and All Saints Grammar school, Umunze, he gained admission to study Medicine at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't join his peers due to financial difficulties.

His story turned after he got a partial scholarship opportunity to study at Rust College, United States through a friend. He later got monetary support from his younger brother and uncle and moved to the United States in 1982.

Upon his graduation from Rust College in 1984, he got another scholarship to study pharmacy at Mercer University, graduating in 1988. He worked as a pharmacy technician after graduating, before getting a full scholarship to study medicine at the University of Tennessee, graduating in 1993.

Dr. Godwin Maduka also completed his postgraduate training and residency in anesthesiology and pain management at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Hospital before setting up his practice in Nevada in the 1990s.

Dr. Godwin Maduka is happily married to Stella Maduka and the union is blessed with five children.

Career

Dr. Maduka worked as an anesthesiologist at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, Nevada and other hospitals, before starting his own practice at Red Rock Medical Group, Nevada. 

In 1999, he founded Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Center, before expanding to other six locations in Southern Nevada.

Philanthropy

Dr. Godwin Maduka is a popular philanthropist and has spent billions of Naira in making the lives of the Umuchukwu indiginesa and Amambra as a hole better.

• He built two churches (one each for the Anglicans and Catholics)
• He built houses for clerics of Catholic and Anglican churches
• He built two monasteries for churches
• He built over 100 standard houses for widows and the poor in the area
• He built a police station and barracks for the Civil Defense staff

• He built Trinity Hospital and Maternity
• He built Immaculate Conception International College 1 and 2 (and also donated buses to them)
