Genius Kadungure Biography and Career
Genius Kadungure was born on the 10th of October, 1984 in Domboshava in a family of four. Ginimbi, as he was fondly called by his fans was said to have begun his business career at a very early age of 17, working as a middle-man securing gas for domestic users. Within a short period of time, he was able to secure his first contract through a friend who worked at the Angolan Airways offices, a move that marked a significant change in his life.
Genius has over the years, grown into one of the biggest young African entrepreneurs. He founded Pioneer Gases, a company that supplies gas to the commercial, industrial, public and retail sectors. Pioneer Gases is not part of Piko Trading Holdings which Kadungure served as the chairman prior to his death.
Genius Kadungure is also the founder/CEO of popular Zimbabwean Disco club, Dreams Nightlife Club which was formerly known as Club Sankayi. The club is located at Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.
Personal Life
Genius Kadungure reportedly engaged to award-winning Zimbabwean businesswoman, Zodwa Mkandla (popularly known as Zozo). While their marriage wasn't made public, Genius revealed in 2014 that they were no longer together.In 2019, the popular club owner was said to be in a relationship with Zimbabwean radio presenter, Nonhlanhla Thuthani popularly known as V-Candy. Miss V-Candy, however, denied the allegations in an interview with the local tabloid, H-Metro, adding that she was disgusted by Wicknell Chivayo's comments which he made on social media.
Genius Kadungure was reportedly involved in a ghastly motor accident in the early hours of 8th November 2020 while driving along Borrowdale Road, in Harare. The Sunday morning crash also claimed the lives of three passengers who were on the vehicle with Genius.
The news has been confirmed by Zimbabwe national police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi. Zimbabwean politician and former Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and National Housing, Saviour Kasukuwere also confirmed the death.
