Rotimi Salami was born on November 30 into a family of 5 children; two boys and three girls. Rotimi's father works as a steel construction engineer while his mother is a businesswoman.The super-talented actor was born and raised in Lagos State. He was born in Surelere but moved to Ajangbadi area of the state where he spent most of his life.
He had his primary education at St Mary’s Nursery and Primary School in Ajangbadi, Lagos. After obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate, he enrolled at Abeokuta Grammar School, Abeokuta, Ogun State for his secondary education.
