Babatunde Gbadamosi Biography and Educational Background

Babatunde Gbadamosi was born on the 15th of October, 1967 in England to the family of late Fatai Gbadamosi and Alhaja Jemilat Gbadamosi. He is the first son in a family of 13 children.

In 1972, Gbadamosi enrolled at  K. Kotun Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Surulere, Lagos for his secondary education. Upon obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate, he proceeded to the  Government College Lagos, Eric Moore Road, Surulere. He completed his secondary education at Government College Ikorodu in 1985.

He further attended the now-defunct Lagos State School of Basic Studies, Agindingbi, Ikeja, before gaining admission to the Lagos State University (LASU).

Babatunde Gbadamosi is happily married to Mrs Folasade Gbadamosi and the union is blessed with children. He is a Christain.

Business Career

Babatunde Gbadamosi started working in small retail and service businesses on arriving in the United Kingdom in 1990. He worked as a mailman at Royal Mail for a while, then as a station assistant at the London Underground. He also worked as a mini-cab driver for a while before venturing into an entrepreneurial career path.

He first set up his own cab firm, ventured into recruitment, and then into IT recruitment and finally into IT Training, Consultancy and Certification.

He has served as the director of various firms, including Esstech Ltd, T/A Esstech College, Akorn Recruitment Ltd and Chequers Cars Ltd. He is currently serving as the director of Redbrick Homes International Ltd, the renowned developers of the iconic Amen Estate, Ibeju Lekki, in the Eastern part of Lagos State.

Political Career

In 1994, Babatunde Gbadamosi joined the United Kingdom Branch of the National Conscience Party, which he represented in NADECO Forum (UK), a broad coalition of political groups and NGOs formed to help return Nigeria to democracy.

Upon returning to Nigeria in 2007, he supported the candidacy of PDP’s Senator Musiliu Obanikoro for the Governorship of Lagos State, and formally joined the PDP 2008.

In 2011, he contested for PDP's nomination for Governor of Lagos State and again in 2015. In 2017, he joined the Action Democratic Party (ADP), winning the party's primary election in October 2018. He was the ADP candidate in the 2019 Lagos State Gubernatorial election in which he emerged the second runner up.

In March 2020, Babatunde Gbadamosi rejoined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and on December 5, 2020, was announced as the PDP candidate for the October 31 2020, Lagos East Senatorial district Bye-election.
