Miss Jane (as she was previously called) relocated to Accra when her mother enrolled at the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) film school.

Entertainment Career

Efya discovered her musical talents at a very early age. She started receiving voice training from some of her family members while she was still small, and it helped her excel as an artiste.

She started gaining media acceptance in 2008 after participating in the Charterhouse's Stars of The Future television show, where she emerged the first runner up. Even though she lost to Irene Logan, she was able to secure herself a three-year recording deal. The deal enabled her and Irene to do a collaborative album titled 'Unveiled', which was released in South Africa.

Efya continued to record songs and perform at local gigs following the conclusion of her recording deal with Charterhouse. Prior to her going solo, she changed her name from Miss Jane to Efya. In 2011, she signed a recording deal with One Nation Entertainment.

Her debut mixtape, TINT (This Is Not The Album) was released on November 12, 2013. The mixtape comprises 13 tracks and was released as a precursor to Janesis, her debut studio album. It features a guest appearance from Black Magic

Efya released Janesis, her debut studio album on April 22, 2016. The album's lead single Forgetting Me was released on January 2014 and it was met with great reception.
