Felicity Ama Agyemang Biography and Educational Background
Nana Ama McBrown was born on the 15th of August, 1977 in Kumasi, Ghana to the family of Kwabena Nkrumah and Cecilia Agyenim Boateng. Her parents divorced when she was young and with her father gone, her mother encountered difficulties raising Nana Ama and her siblings. Nana Ama and her siblings were adopted by Kofi McBrown and her aunt, Madam Betty Obiri Yeboah.Nana Ama and her six siblings grew up in Kwadaso, Kumasi with her aunt and her adopted father. She had her primary education at St. Peter’s International Residential School. Upon obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate, she enrolled at Minnesota International School and then later moved to Central International School to obtain her Senior School Certificate. Unfortunately, she ended up as a dropout and could not sit for the Basic Education Certificate Exams. Nana Ama attended College of Business where she obtained a secretarial certificate.
Entertainment Career
Nana Ama McBrown first step into the entertainment industry was when she answered an audition call on the radio by Miracle Films. Instead of acting, she was hired to do costuming.
Fortunately for her, while on set, she was able to snag the lead role after the director, Samuel Nyamekye, felt that she was better suited for the role. In 2001, her first movie, 'That Day', was released, launching her career.
McBrown's performance in 'That Day' helped land her another role in the TV series 'Tentacles'.
In 2007, she appeared in the movie 'Asoreba', co-starring Mercy Aseidu and Agya Koo. Since then, she has had roles in a number of movies.
Asides from acting, Nana Ama McBrown is also the host of the popular television cooking show McBrown Kitchen and entertainment talk show United Showbiz on UTV.
Nana Ama is the brand ambassador of Royal Drinks.
