After completing his primary education, he enrolled at the Federal Government College Lagos, where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE).He further gained admission to study at the prestigious University of Calabar, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture.

Ubong King began his career as a volunteer guard in the protocol department of the church he was attending at the time.
He also worked as a consultant in a piggery before venturing into the security industry where he started the Protection Plus Security Limited.
