Babatunde Bashir Bello (DJ Babus) Biography and Educational Background

Babatunde Bashir Bello was born on the 29th of December, 1986 in Lagos State, Nigeria. His mother, Mrs Nadia Bashir-Bello is the proprietress of Bellina Schools, Akoka, Lagos.

After obtaining his First School leaving Certificate, DJ Babus enrolled at Adesoye College Offa for his secondary education, obtaining his SSCE certificate in 2005. He subsequently travelled to the United States, where he secured admission to study Information System and Management Technology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

In 2011, he studied production and sound engineering Recording Workshop Chillicothe.

Entertainment Career

DJ Babus' over ten years experience in the entertainment industry has seen him operate as a DJ, producer, talent manager, songwriter, T sound engineer and sound designer for both film and television.

He started his entertainment career as an intern at the CGC Technologies Inc., an IT firm that specializes in Network connection and management.

In 2008, he worked as head of music director at the WMBC Radio.

In 2012, he was a resident DJ for One Eleven. The same year, he also worked as a talent manager for Knighthouse Creative.

Between 2014 and 2015, DJ Babus worked as a resident DJ for Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos.

Before his death, he was the resident DJ for RSVP Restaurant & Lounge.

DJ Babus is also the founder of Crates and Vinyl Entertainment, an entertainment company that offers Disk Jockeys services for private and corporate events. They also provide sound and lights for events amongst other services.

During the course of his career, he worked with many reputable brands like Puma, Campari, Smirnoff, Intercontinental Hotel, Union Bank of Nigeria, Ebony Life TV, Radisson Blu, Ciroc, Martel, Rutgers University, Samsung, Trace TV amongst others.

He recently dropped a brand new self-produced tune titled 'Jollof on the Beach', a fusion of Amapiano, Ghana Bounce flow, and Afrobeats sound.

DJ Babus reportedly died on Friday, 29th January 2020 after contracting coronavirus in Lagos State.
