Gladys Boss Shollei Biography and Educational Background

Gladys Boss Shollei was born on the 27th of May, 1974. Not much is known about her elementary education, but she holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law and a master's degree from the University of Cape Town.

She also obtained her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Career and Politics

Gladys Boss Shollei worked as a lecturer at the University of Nairobi and as Kenya's Deputy Chief Election Officer before becoming chief registrar of the judiciary of Kenya.

In 2013, she got dismissed from her position of the chief registrar of the judiciary on grounds of gross misconduct and corruption. She, however, challenged her dismissal and after some years, was acquitted of criminal charges of corruption and abuse of office.

She was elected to the National Assembly as woman representative for Uasin Gishu in the 2017 general election, representing the Jubilee Party. She is chairperson of the Committee on Delegated Legislation.

Personal Life

Gladys Boss Shollei was married to former Standard Group chief executive officer (CEO), Sam Shollei and the union was blessed with children. The couple was were married for 25 years but their union came to a surprise end in the beginning of January 2020 after a messy divorce.
Both of them have since remarried.
