Kelvin Ikeduba was born on the 21st August 1976 in Ebute-Metta, a neighbourhood of Lagos Mainland, Lagos, in Lagos State, Nigeria. The multi-talented actor originally hails from Delta State and is from a family of four children, two males and two females. He was raised in Lagos state, precisely in Olokodana Street in Ebute-Metta.He received his primary and secondary education in Lagos State. After obtaining his SSCE, he enrolled at the prestigious University of Benin (UNIBEN), obtaining a B.Sc. degree in Economics.

Kelvin Ikeduba debuted as an actor in the year 2000. In an interview with Vanguard, he described his venture into Nollywood as a coincidence, explaining that he initially wanted to accompany a friend to an audition, but on reaching the venue, he decided to give it a try. He however explained that e was surprised when he got a call for a movie role after the audition.
Ikeduba's perfect mastery of Igbo, Yoruba and English languages has made him one of the most versatile actors in Nollywood being able to fit comfortably well into both Yoruba and English movies. Even though he debuted as an English actor in Nollywood, he eventually crossed over to the Yoruba movie industry with the help of Femi Ogedengbe.
