Sanaipei Tande Biography and Educational Background

Sanaipei Tande was born on the 22nd of March, 1985 in Mombasa, Kenya. She had her primary education at Loreto Convent Mombasa. After obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate, she enrolled at the Mama Ngina High School for her high school education but later transferred to Agha Khan High School.

After relocation to Nairobi, Tande continued her high school studies at St Lucy Kiriri Girls. Upon completing from St Lucy Kiriri Girls, she got admitted to study Pharmacy at the Kenya Medical Training College. She, however, didn't complete her studies as she opted to defer and temporarily pursue a career in music, which was her passion.
Entertainment Career
In 2004, Sanaipei Tande joined the Coca-Cola Popstars (East Africa) Talent Search after coaxing from her family. She won the competition alongside two fellow contestants, Kevin Waweru and Pam Waithaka. The trio formed a band 'Sema' and won a record deal with Homeboyz Records. They came to the limelight after releasing a seventeen track debut album 'Mwewe', with hit singles such as 'Mwewe', 'Sakalakata' and 'Leta Wimbo'.

Later that year, the band split, citing 'external forces' and 'irreconcilable differences' as the reasons behind the disbandment. Thereafter, Sanaipei embarked on a solo music career, featuring in Kenyan rapper Jua Cali's critically acclaimed hit single 'Kwaheri' and collaborations with Madtraxx and Big Pin.

In 2006, she joined Capital FM Kenya as a co-presenter on Eve D'Souza's Hits Not Homework drive show. A year later, she joined Kiss 100 FM in 2007 to host the mid-morning show. She also hosted Keeping It Kenyan, a weekend segment that featured underground Kenyan music and artists.

In 2013, upon leaving Kiss 100, Sanaipei joined Easy FM (now known as Nation FM) as co-presenter of the drive show alongside Edward Kwach.

In 2014, she released 'Mfalme wa Mapenzi' as part of producer Wawesh's Mahaba project, a showcase of Swahili love songs. Later, she began to host the mid-morning show alongside Obinna Ike Igwe. 

In September 2015, Sanaipei and fellow presenters Anto Neo Soul and Ciru Muriuki were laid off. Her termination and that of her colleagues was met with much uproar on Twitter, with many listeners and fans demanding their reinstatement.
