Odunlade Adekola was born on the 31st of December, 1978 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. Though originally from Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State, the handsome actor spent most of his childhood in Ogun State.Adekola had his primary education at St John's Primary School. After obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate, he enrolled at St. Peter's College, Abeokuta, from where he obtained the West African School Certificate Examination.
He further gained admission to the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where he received a diploma certificate. He also holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos.

Odunlade Adekola discovered his acting talents at a very age and started acting from his church, Christ Apostolic Church's drama group.
In 1996, his friend introduced him to a theatre group that meets for rehearsals in the neighbourhood. He decided to give it a try and in no distant time, became a part of the group. The same year, he joined the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts practitioners.
