Born on the 12th of July, 1975, Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Nwaturuocha is a member of the Royal Nwaturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State, Nigeria.She is the youngest child of four siblings, and her dad was a medical doctor while her mum was a nurse.
Rita attended the Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, before gaining admission into the University of Port Harcourt in 1999, where she graduated with a BA (Honours) Degree in Theatre Arts.
According to her, she started performing even as a child, appearing in children's TV shows in Imo State and school plays. She starred in her first movie, 'A Time To Kill' in the year 1998 and since then has appeared in over 100 other movies.
