Carlos Ahenkorah Biography and Educational Background

Carlos Ahenkorah was born on the 20th of July, 1966 in Ghana. He had his basic education in Bagabaga and Sakasaka in Tamale as well as the Methodist Demonstration School in Ho. In 1980, he enrolled at the Tema Secondary School for his O’Level and subsequently, Abuakwa State College for A-Level.

In 1988, he gained admission to the prestigious University of Science and Technology, graduating in 1992 with BSc. Honours. He also holds a Masters degree in Port and Shipping Administration (MA) from the Regional Maritime University.

Career

Carlos Ahenkorah established his own company, Carlos King Freight Services after his National Service with NACVET. Carlos King Freight Services has its headquarters in Tema with branches in Takoradi port and Accra airport.

The company has over 100 employees and more than 10,000 affiliate companies worldwide.

Between 2004 to 2006, he worked as a sales executive at Jospong Consultium. He was the marketing manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited and the managing director of J.A Plant Pool Limited between 2007 to 2012.

Carlos Ahenkorah has also lectured at the Regional Maritime University and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Mr Ahenkorah serves on many boards both locally and internationally like:

• Gerson Lehrman Group
• Chairman, Kwaebibirem rural bank
• Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD)
• Ghana Revenue Authority

As a politician, Carlos Ahenkorah is a member of the New Patriotic Party. He was a Member of the Parliament of Tema West constituency. He was the deputy minister for Trade and Industry in Ghana but had to resign after admitting to openly flouting COVID-19 protocols at a time he had tested positive.
