Adesua Etomi was born on the 22nd of February 1986 in Owerri, the capital of Imo State. She is the youngest of her three siblings and while her father works as a soldier, her mother is an engineer.

Etomi had her primary education at Corona School, Victoria Island, Lagos. After obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate, she enrolled at Queen’s College, Lagos for her secondary education. At the age of 13, she moved to the United Kingdom for physical theatre, musical theatre and performing arts studies in City College Coventry.

She graduated from City College Coventry in 2006 and proceeded to study at the University of Wolverhampton, graduating with first-class honours in Drama and Performance.

Adesua Etomi discovered her acting talents at a very early age and by the time she was 7, she had joined her school's drama club. In 2004, she began to feature in some theatrical works like 'The Crucible' in City College Coventry. In 2009 and 2013, she starred in 'The Grim Tales' and 'Saro' respectively.

Adesua's breakthrough was in 2014 when she in the film 'Knocking on Heaven’s Door'. The movie was written by Vivian Chiji, directed by Desmond Elliot and produced by Ini Edo and Emem Isong.
