Born on the 17th of December, 1942, President Muhammadu Buhari was born into the family of a Fulani chief, Hardo Adamu and Ms. Zulaihat. He was bron in Daura, Kastina State, Nigeria and was the twenty-third child of his father.
His dad, Adamu died when he was just four years old and he had to grow up with his mother alone. Buhari had his primary education in Daura and then completed in Mai’adua, before proceeding to the Katsina Middle School in 1953. He later attended the Katsina Provincial Secondary School and proceeded to the Nigerian Military Training School, Kaduna in the year 1963.

Buhari got married to Sufinatu, his first wife 1971 and they had five children together. He got married to his second wife, Aisha and they have five children together - Aisha, Yusuf, Halima, Zahra and Amina.

Political Career And Life In The Military

Buhari became the president of Nigeria, 2015 after he had taken over from the ruling government of Goodluck Jonathan. Before then, he had ruled Nigeria as a military head of state, 31st December, 1983 to 27th August, 1985 after a successful coup d'etat.
He unsuccessfully ran for the office of the Nigerian president, 2003, 2007 and 2011 consecutively. Having emerged as the presidential candidate for the APC, December, 2014, he became the Nigerian president.
