Education is something related to change of mind. Every philosopher has given emphasis on education. From beginning to end an individual require to learn how to have existed in this world. How to deal fellows and other human beings. When a child is born, the process of his learning starts and continues to the end of his life.

There are different philosophies relating to education. Plato was a founder of Idealism while Aristotle was champion of Realism. John Dewy advocated Pragmatics. There are different approaches about how to impart knowledge and learning to a child. Some educationists give emphasis on experience and some give emphasis on theoretical learning.

Some are of view to individual learning and some to the collective. Rousseau the great education philosopher is champion of naturalism in education. According to him, a child learns in his natural environment. He was against early school education, while Froebel is the founder of play way method of learning. Types of Education

There exist two main types of education; one is formal and the other is non-formal. Informal education a child learns in a specially managed education system; school, college, and university. It is arranged and managed and it has a curriculum, schedule course, assessment and evaluation system an appointed skilled faculty.
In non-formal education, an individual learns whenever he wishes. There is no fixed schedule for classes. There is yet another type of education, that is informal education. A man learns from his daily experience. It is informal learning. In this way, an individual learns all the life.

Aims, Objectives, and Goals of Education

We often use aims, goal, and objective when we talk about the outcomes of learning. These terms differ slightly. Aims are general outcomes of learning. A general change in his behavior  is observed when he completes his education. It aims at developing an individual into a sound and effective citizen and to fully integrate him into his community.

Objectives are the outcome of an action. Objectives are more specific than aims. What will the child learn at the end, of course, is an objective. Goals are time bound. Each level of education has specific goals. These are usually stated in education policy.

Historical perspective of Education

When we see that every child is required to go to school, complete well-structured course a specific timetable and schedule for classes. It is not so from the beginning, like other things education has evolved through a process and it has a history. Schools, colleges and universities are a recent production. 
Thousands of years ago people lived on preying and agriculture. Children educated themselves through play and exploration. Adults had given them freehand for exploration. With the rise of agriculture, these children were forced to become agricultural laborers and when industry developed they were working in industries. These children were 'boy servants' for nobles. 

In 19th century idea of govt. sponsored schools for education developed and different schools, colleges, and universities were set up. With the development of schooling, the mindset of people about children changed. Now they were going to schools instead of working in factories and on agricultural farms. Education and Psychology

Psychology is the study of mind and behavior. Education is the transformation of mind and behavior. In this way, education and psychology go side by side. It applies psychological principles to learning educational psychology studies how a child learns in an education setting.
There are mentally weak, intelligent and gifted students. They have individual differences and different aspects of personality. Education psychology tends to deal with all types of such varieties of the group.
