Annie Idibia was born on the 13th of November, 1984 in Ibadan but is originally from Eket in Akwa Ibom State. After her parent's divorce, she moved with her mum to Lagos and continues her education there. She holds a degree in Computer Science from Lagos State University and a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos.

Annie Idibia started acting at a very young age but prior to her acting career, she competed at the 'Queen of All Nations Beauty Pageant' where she placed runner-up. After the contest, she went on feature in a cameo appearance in 2face Idibia's 'African Queen' official music video.
She came into limelight after acting 'Blackberry Babes' a movie that also feature other popular stars like Oge Okoye, Muna Obiekwe, Tonto Dikeh and Vincent Opurum. The movie was directed by Sylvester Obadigie.
The movie represented a group of girls that were obsessed with their Blackberry phones and would live or die for the smartphone technology. The movie was 'Blackberry Babes' was loved by Nigerians and it trended during the period.
