Nick Mutuma was born on the 22th of September, 1988 in Meru, Kenya but he grew up in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. He had his primary education and high-school education at the The International School of Tanganyika and Braeside School respectively. It was during his early years in Braeside School that he discovered his love performance arts and he often participated in school plays.In 2010, he joined the The United States International University, Nairobi to study international Business Administration and graduated in 2005.

In 2014 he starred in Zuku series State House which was directed with by Wanuri Kahiu. In the series, he played the role of a spoiled and stubborn son of the president of Kenya who falls in love with one of the staff's daughter.
