Born on the 15th of August, 1980, Inetimi Odon Inetimi Alfred professionlly known as Timaya is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.He is the founder of the DM Records and came into limelight after the release of 'Dem Mama, which was also in his debut album. He released his second album, Gift and Grace in the year 2008.
Timaya's third album,De Rebirth was released in partnership with the Black Body Entertainment and was also a huge success. It's lead single was 'Plantain Boy'. He collaborated with the Dem Mama Soldiers on the album LLNP (Long Life N Prosperity) amd released Upgrade in 2012, containing songs like 'Bum Bum', 'Malonogede' and 'Sexy Ladies'.
Talking about his early life, Timaya was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria and was a part of a large family, being the youngest of 15 children.
His father was a banker while his mother was a trader, and he attended the Assemblies of God Nursery And Primary School. After his primary school, he got admitted into secondary school at Nkpolu Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt, and then moved to Lagos State to complete his education at the Ikeja Grammar School, while staying with his elder brother.
After his secondary school, he returned to Port Harcourt to study Banking and Finance but dropped out after first semester, because of his poor results. He moved back to Lagos State and joined Eedris Abdulkareem's hiphop group as a backup vocalist.
His music career kickstarted from there and he eventually came into limelight.
Timaya was appointed a Peace Ambassador by the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace (IIFWP). He is currently not married and though has three children from different mothers, hints that he isn't ready to settle down maritally anytime soon!
