We earlier reported that collation of the results is still going on as INEC have declared results from 4 out of the 8 Local Government Areas in the state.
The officer while speaking with TheCable said that he didn't know how long he would be staying in the state as the work is yet to be concluded.
The INEC office is the collation centre for the Bayelsa governorship election and the officer in report was redeployed from a unit in Lagos.
“We will still stay after the result has been announced. The last lap of our job is to ensure there is no post election violence,” he said.
The police earlier deployed 32, 000 personnel to Bayelsa State for the governorship election that took place on Saturday in the state.
Meanwhile, Situation Room has called for a cancellation of the election results in Kogi State due to violence.
