Court Grants ₦100 Million Bail To Mompha
Ismaila Mustapha, aka Mompha has been granted bail in the tune of ₦100 million over alleged ₦33 billion fraud by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
Recall that Mompha was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on October 19 for alleged internet fraud and money laundering.

The Instagram billionaire reportedly filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit against the EFCC for alleging 'unlawful detention'.

In the suit dated November 14, and filed before a Lagos high court by his lawyers, including Gboyega Oyewole (SAN), Ademola Adefolaju, Kolawole Salami and four others, Mompha reportedly demanded the sum of ₦5 million as damages from the EFCC. He also demanded a court order directing the commission to release him unconditionally forthwith from its custody. 

Mompha pleaded not guilty to a 14-count charge bordering on fraud offences on Monday and the court adjourned till Friday for hearing of Mompha’s bail application and the commencement of his trial.
