Nigeria Meets Niger And Benin Over Border Closure
Nigeria is locked in a meeting with neighbouring countries Niger and Benin over the recent closure of the Nigerian border.
The Tripartite Committee Meeting is between the Foreign Ministers of the three countries and is to consider the conditions put forward by Nigerian government before the land borders can be opened for importation of goods.

The Federal Government Committee had met fortnight ago setting conditions for reopening of the country’s borders for goods importation from neighbouring countries.

Nigeria also insisted that neighbouring countries must respect the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) rules of origin if they must bring goods into the country.

Details shortly…

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has extends the border closure to January 2020 as prices of items in the market spike.
