Kano State: Ganduje Declares Education Free And Compulsory For Almajiris

Ganduje Declares Education Free And Compulsory For Almajiris In Kano
Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the executive governor of Kano State has declared education free and compulsory for the almajiris.
He made the announcement on Saturday, also vowing that his administration would ensure that every child in Kano had unhindered access to qualitative education.

Ganduje also reiterated his commitment to ensuring that almajiris in the state benefited from his free and compulsory basic and secondary education policy, despite the reality that most of them were children from neighbouring states.

The governor further described the status of Kano being the state with the highest number of out-of-school children in the country, as a challenge that must be faced and defeated.

According to him, with the free school feeding programme and free education policy in place, all children in Kano are now currently privileged to be educated, just as he charged parents to take advantage of the ample opportunity to send their wards to school for a better future.
