LASEPA Reopens Quilox Night Club

LASEPA Reopens Quilox Night Club
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has re-opened Club Quilox on Friday after securing the management’s commitment to comply with the State’s Environmental Laws, Regulations, Guidelines and Standards.
The Lagos State commissioner for transport had stated that he got lots of distress calls from people who were complaining that Ozumba Mbadiwe Road had been blocked on a Monday morning. He went there with his response team, including LASTMA officials, and they towed away a lot of cars.

They also noticed that Quilox Night Club, whose patrons had allegedly parked on the road, thereby making it very difficult for other road users to move, was also making a lot of noise, so they called LASEPA and LASEPA shut down the club.

A spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command Bala Elkana told The Guardian on Monday that the cars were towed from causing traffic following a 36-hour non-stop event hosted at the club.

Apart from the cars towed, police also arrested the owner of the club, Shina Abiola, popularly known as Shina Peller, who himself is a lawmaker. The club was also sealed by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency because of noise pollution.
