Aminu Ado Bayero is the second son of Ado Bayero, the 13th Emir of Kano. His father, Alhaji Dr. Ado Abdullahi Bayero reigned from 1963 till his death in 2014.Prior to becoming Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero worked as a public relations officer at Kabo Air. He later became a flight engineer.
Education
Aminu Ado Bayero had his early primary education at Kofar Kudu Primary School, before proceeding to Government Secondary School, Birnin Kudu.After completing his secondary education, Bayero gained admission to study at Bayero University Kano where he obtained a degree in Mass Communication. He also went to Flying College, Oakland, California, US before returning back to Nigerian to undergo the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Nigeria Television Authority, Makurdi.
Career
After completing his NYSC, Bayero began working as a public relations officer at Kabo Air, before becoming a flight engineer. In 1990, Aminu's father, Ado Bayero appointed him Dan Majen Kano and district head of Dala.The same year, he was promoted to Turakin Kano and to Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida Kano in 2000. Prior to being crowned as Emir, Bayero also served as the chairman of the Kano emirate durbar committee.
In 2014, Muhammad Sanusi II (the just dethroned Emir) promoted Bayero to Wamban Kano, thereby, transferring him from Dala to Kano municipal where he succeeded Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Tijani Hashim as the district head.
In June 2017, Sanusi suspended Bashir Ado Bayero, Aminu Ado Bayero’s brother, as district head of Takai local government, for alleged disloyalty.
In 2019, Aminu Ado Bayero was appointed Emir of Bichi by Abdullahi Ganduje, the Executive Governor of Kano State.
