Trevor Noah was born on the 20th of February, 1984 in Johannesburg, South Africa. His father, Robert is of a Swiss ancestry, while his mother, Patricia Nombuyiselo Noah, is of Xhosa ancestry, hence Noah is classified as Coloured.
As at the time of Trevor's birth, his parents' interracial relationship was illegal under the apartheid law because his mother was classified as black, while his father was classified as white.
Recall that interracial sexual relations and marriages in Sounth Africa were not decriminalized until the amended Immorality Act of 1985 (a year after Noah's birth), so Noah's mother was jailed and fined by the South African government.

Trevor Noah was raised by by his mother, Patricia and grandmother, Nomalizo Frances Noah in the black township of Soweto. Noah spent his early youth at Maryvale College, a Catholic school in Johannesburg.

Career

Trevor Noah first step into stardom was in 2002, when he had a small role on an episode of Isidingo, a South African soap opera. Soon after that, he began hosting his own radio show, Noah's Ark on Gauteng's leading youth radio station, YFM. He later dropped the show to focus on comedy.

In 2004, Noah begun hosting an educational TV programme titled 'Run the Adventure' on SABC 2, which he ended in 2006. In 2007, he hosted a gossip-themed show on SABC 1 titled 'The Real Goboza' and another sports show, titled 'Siyadlala', also on the SABC.

In 2008, Noah, alongside Pabi Moloi, cohosted a dating gameshow titled, 'The Amazing Date'. A year later, he hosted the 3rd Annual South Africa Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) and co-hosted alongside Eugene Khoza on 'The Axe Sweet Life', a reality competition series.

Noah in 2010, hosted two programs, the sixteenth annual South African Music Awards and 'Tonight with Trevor Noah' on MNet. In the same 2010, Noah also became a spokesperson and consumer protection agent for South Africa's third-largest mobile phone network provider, Cell C.

The Daily Show

Trevor Noah was, in March 2015, announced as a successor to the former host of 'The Daily Show' Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart hosted 'The Daily Show' from 1999, until 2015 when his tenure ended.

Before the announcement, Trevor Noah was already a recurring contributor on the American late-night talk and news satire television program. 'The Daily Show' airs each Monday through Thursday on American pay television channel, Comedy Central.

In late 2018, Trevor Noah broke up with his girlfriend, Jordyn Taylor, an American real estate agent, singer-songwriter and model.

The reason for the split wasn't made public, but Jordyn made the announcement during a Q&A Instagram Story session with fans after opening up about her solo vacay.

The fan asked; 'Do you love Trevor Noah‚' and she replied ‘Of course I love him. How could you not love him? I love him so much but you guys should know we broke up this past summer but yeah I love him.’
She further stated that over half of the questions in her inbox where about Trevor.
