Born on the 15th of June, 1992, Parker McCollum was raised in Conroe, Texas and lived his early life listening to classic country musicians such as Buck Owens, Willie Nelson and Porter Wagoner.He was introduced to red dirt musicians such as Pat Green, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Chris Knight by his family.
While working summers on a cattle ranch alongside his grandfather, he was further exposed to music artists like Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan and Steve Earle.
He learnt how to play the violin while still in secondary school and began to perform in the school orchestra.
He also started learning guitar when he was thirteen, and began writing his own music, mixing genres such as Americana, country music and indie rock.
According to Parker, his music was greatly influenced by his brother, Tyler Stephen McCollum's lyrics and songwriting.
