• He studied at the prestigious King's College, Lagos, before gaining admission into the University of Ibadan (UI). He graduated from UI in 1981, obtaining a B.Sc degree in Economics.
He also obtained an LL.B from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1984) and a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos (1985).
• Asue Ighodalo, upon graduation from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos started working as an Associate in the law firm of Chris Ogunbanjo & Co. He worked there from 1985, until 1991 when he set up Banwo & Ighodalo in partnership with Femi Olubanwo.
• Apart from Sterling Bank, Asue also sits on the boards of other public and private companies, Non-Governmental Organizations (“NGOs”) and a statutory body including the Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) FATE Foundation.
He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), USA, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, International Bar Association (IBA) and many others.
