Geobek is an esteemed A&R specialist, creative strategist and entertainment mogul of his time, who currently resides in Johannesburg, South Africa. Best described as a multidimensional Afro-entertainment figure, his propensity to discover and spur potential remains a key marker of his strength, next to his equally notable feats in the world of film, media and pan-Africanism.

Born George Beke in Nigeria‘s southern city of Port Harcourt, his God-given touch would in time transform him into a mammoth of a media personality in the province of A&R, executive production, brand development and media production; a grasp that has seen him consistently and successfully prime the continent’s super diverse music scene for the next big thing and epic collaborations, among others.

A dynamic and effervescent character, Geobek’s steady rise professionally began with the role of a music compiler in his native state’s first fully-automated radio station, Garden City Radio, following a missed opportunity to study Electronic Engineering Technology at the University of Devry, Canada.
Undeterred, he turned this misfortune into an advantage, augmenting his knowledge and expertise in music, a decision that would be of paramount importance to his journey.

This newfound trajectory gave renewed impetus to Geobek’s quest for purpose, prompting the prospective entertainment personality to relocate to South Africa, where he pursued a degree in Audiovisual Communication which covered Film & TV Production and journalism at the University of Johannesburg.
There, the bigger picture became apparent, culminating in the role of A&R specialist at Universal Music South Africa due to his innate competence and experience in Africa’s musical powerhouse, Nigeria.
Universal Music South Africa’s faith in George’s promising gift soon paid off after his meticulous insight led to the very famed 2013 song, ‘Happiness’ by Mafikizolo featuring Mr. May D.

Nonetheless, Geobek’s quantum leap in the space of A&R came to fruition in 2015, when he was tasked with putting together a song by the recording company for The Global Goals Campaign. ‘Tell Everyone’ would ensue, a widespread hit song starring a slew of big-name artists across the continent; Nigeria’s Yemi Alade, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Souti Sol from Kenya, Togo’s Toofan, South Africa’s Mafikizolo, Sarkodie and Becca from Ghana, Mozambican producer Ellputo, as well as legendary Nigerian producer, CobhamsAsuquo, all of whom called upon their leaders to collectively fight against poverty, inequality and climate change.

So immense was the songs success, it would birth Africa’s maiden edition of the Global Citizen Festival, a true cornerstone of the Nigerian’s discernment.
Beyond his passion for A&R, Geobek boasts of a first-class resumé that hosts; Mr. Eazi’s ‘Leg Over (Remix)’ feat. French Montana and Ty Dollar Sign, ‘Sampudi’ by Burna Boy, Runtown’s ‘LuvaLuva’ featuring Rowlene, Laylizzy’s ‘Slay’ and ‘Hello’ featuring AKA, Mafikizolo’s ‘Happiness’ featuring Mr. May D, and finally, the star-studded ‘Tell Everyone’ featuring Yemi Alade, Diamond Platnumz, Sauti Sol, Sarkodie, Becca and Toofan to name a few.
Furthermore, he has been pivotal in the success stories of award-winningrap star, Laylizzy, award-winning Mozambican producer, Ellputo and most recently South African urban sensation Jst Sako, guiding their potentialities into the major leagues.

His degree in Audiovisual Communication has not been put to waste either, with the media icon producing music videos of top-tier quality for Laylizzy’s ‘Txi’ ‘Slay’ and ‘Too Much’ featuring Kwesta so far.
Today, George Beke‘s entrepreneur vision for a power house of Afro-entertainment heads four companies; Geobek Records, Geobek Publishing, Geobek Entertainment and Geobek Films, all of which are headquartered in Johannesburg and grant him remarkable influence in African entertainment.

He is keen on delivering ground-breakingback-to-back collaborations, and is ready to uncover the continent’s next generation of talents in order to fulfill his pan-African dream and incoming project; the Geobek Standard.
Undoubtedly a man of many talents, it is George Beke’s hope that the next wave of artists are prominent stakeholders in the financially buoyant global market of music.
