Rachel Oniga was born on the 23rd of May, 1957 in Ebutte Metta, Lagos State but she originally hails from Eku in Delta State. She began her acting career in 1993, shortly after her divorce.

Oniga worked briefly at Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch Consultant Company before her first movie titled 'Onome' and her debut Yoruba movie was 'Owo Blow'. She starred in several top Nollywood movies, including 'Doctor Bello' and the popular TV series, 'Super Story'.

Personal Life

Rachel Oniga was formerly married until the marriage broke up following irreconcilable differences. In an interview with Punch, the single mother of three revealed that she regretted that she didn’t fight for her marriage despite his husband’s plea for forgiveness before his death.
Her union was blessed with three children. She also had a grandchild from her daughter Georgia.

She reportedly died in July 2021. As of press time, the cause of Oniga's death was yet to be made public, but we'll update this article as soon as we get credible info from a reliable source.
