Charles Inojie is from a royal family, but was raised up by his grandmother. According to him, he hardly recollects his mother as they lived apart for a very long time.While growing up, Charles wanted to be a lawyer but after attending Bode Osoyin's writers resort, he had a change of mind and proceeded to get a degree in dramatic arts.
He graduated from the University of Port Harcourt in the year 1999.
After his tertiary education, Charles Inojie enrolled for a one year acting course in the Bode Osoyin's Writers Resort, from where he obtained a certificate course in Dramatic Arts after completing the program in 1993.
He officially joined the Nollywood industry in 1999, and started working as an assistant movie director before venturing into full-time acting and movie directing.
Inojie is one of the most popular comic actors in Nollywood today. He was appointed the president of the labor union of the Screen Writers Guild of Nigeria (SWGN).
Charles Inojie got married to Obehi Obhiseh in 2012 and they have two children together.
