Nkem Owoh is a Nigerian actor, comedian, singer and songwriter. He won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a leading role, year 2008.
Osuofia, as he is better known as was born in Enugu State, Nigeria. He had his primary and secondary school education in Enugu, and then proceeded to the University of Ilorin to study engineering.
He started acting in various televisions and film productions from his days in the campus.

One of Nkem Owoh's most popular appearances was in the 2003 movie, 'Osuofia In London' and it gave him the nickname. He also released a song, 'I Go Chop Your Dollar' and it was about the advance fee fraud.
The song was featured in the movie, 'The Master' and Owoh played the role of a scammer. The song was however banned by both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission.

In 2007, Nkem was arrested in Amsterdam, Netherlands (Bijlmermeer neighborhood in the Amsterdam Zuidoost borough) for a seven-month investigation by the Dutch police dubbed 'Operation Apollo'.
He was arrested together with 111 people while performing on stage, and it was based on a suspicion of lottery fraud and immigration violations.
He was later released.

Barely two years after the incidence, Owoh was kidnapped in the eastern part of Nigeria and a ₦15 million ransom was demanded.
The family however allegedly paid a ransom fee of ₦1.4 million to secure his release.

Nkem Owoh is happily married to Ngozi Nkem Owoh and they live together.
