Born on the 7th of June, 1988, Vanessa Hau Mdee is a Tanzanian singer, songwriter and TV personality. She rose to limelight after becoming the Tanzanian MTV VJ and later rose to prominence as a radio and TV host.She was the host for both the Dume Challenge for ITV Tanzania and the Epic Bongo Star Search, before she was signed into the B'Hits Music Group late 2012.
After joining the B'Hits Music Group, Vanessa collaborated with Tanzanian rapper, A.Y on a record, 'Money' and then worked with Ommy Dimpoz, a Bongo Flava artist on the track, 'Me and You'. The song was voted the Song of the Year at the 2013 Kilimanjaro Music Awards and she received a bigger buzz after releasing her first solo single, 'Closer'. It got over 30,000 downloads in the week after which it was released, and it remained on the charts for over 13 weeks.
As a radio and TV personality, Vanessa Mdee has had the chance to interview a good number of artists such as Kelly Rowland, K'Naan, French Montana, Miguel, Donald, Stella Mwangi, Xtatic, Camp Mulla, Teargas, Tay Grin, Dr. Sid, Mac Miller, Trey Songs, Rick Ross, Nazizi, Ludacris and so many others.
