PDP Loss In Bayelsa: Jonathan Could Be Facing Suspension From PDP
The People's Democratic Party (PDP) suffered major losses in the just concluded gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States and it seems the party is not taking it lightly as a one of the figure-heads could be facing a suspension.
We earlier reported that APC leaders In Bayelsa visited Goodluck Jonathan after victory in the polls.

A series of events that occurred before the election might be proving that the former Nigerian president wasn't in support of the PDP candidate, Duoye Diri (or probably the PDP as a whole).

To start with, he didn't support the PDP candidate during the party's primary elections that was held on September 4th.

On October 6th, the ex-president's Mum prayed for the APC governor-elect, David Lyon as he visited her in her Otuoke residence.

The same day, the ex-president, Jonathan and Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike boycotted the PDP mega rally in Bayelsa. The party which was led by the party's national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus was graced by the Governors of Imo, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwa; , Delta, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and many other PDP heads.

On October 10th, Jonathan visited President Buhari in the Aso Rock. The visit though probably not bad, might have affected the party's performance in the election.

Shortly before the election, former president Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience visited the Rivers State Governor at the government house. This we believe was related to the Bayelsa State election and the reason behind the two politicians not gracing the PDP mega rally.

Finally, on October 17, the ex-president hosted APC leaders in his home after the announcement of the results. Inasmuch as the APC heads gave the reasons for their visit, the series of events before and after the election might be proving that the ex-president played a major role in the election.

Before I drop pen, did I also add that Jonathan's kinsmen celebrated PDP's defeat? We earlier reported that the ex-president's kinsmen were spotted with AC flags celebrating the defeat of the PDP candidate.

Meanwhile, PDP has issued a statement after their defeat in the Kogi and Bayelsa elections.
