Born on the 9th of May, 1992 in Shirley Village, Elim, Limpopo, South Africa, to the family of Rosemary Phaweni and Marc Wegerif, Madjozi is a South African singer, songwriter, writer, rapper and poet.Her father is of a European descent, while her mother is of an African descent and they divorced when she was still very young.
Madjozi grew up with her mother, but had the opportunities to travel regularly to other parts of the continent such as Tanzania with her father.
She graduated from the International School of Tanganyika in Tanzania and was offered scholarship to the Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Massachusetts, United States to study creative writing and African studies.
