Ayo Richard Makun (AY) was born on the 19th of August, 1971. Though originally from Ondo State, AY grew up in Warri, Delta State and Lagos, Nigeria.
On completing his primary and secondary education, Ayo Makun gained admission to study Theatre Arts at Delta State University (Delsu). He graduated in 2003, after spending 9 years in the institution.

Career

Ayo Makun's first step into stardom was working for comedian Alibaba Akporobome as his personal assistant and event manager. He rose to fame after performing at the “Night of a Thousand Laugh” a comedy show hosted by Oppa Williams.

Fast forward to 2020, he has become one of the biggest comedians in Nigeria with over 8 million Instagram followers. His annual AY Live show features other big comedians like Bovi, Helen Paul and others. It boasts of over 10 thousand attendees annually.
