Festus Fadeyi was born on the 12th of December, 1941. After completing his elementary and secondary education, he gained admission to study Accounting at the California State University (CSU ), Pomona, California USA. After bagging his BSc. in Accounting from CSU in 1970, he proceeded to the Pepperdine University, Los Angeles California, from where he got an MBA in Behavioral Science.

He joined Pan Ocean Oil Corporation (Nigeria) Limited in 1974 as the Financial Controller and was promoted to the position of Finance and Administrative Director in 1978.
In 1984, he was made the Managing Director of Pan Ocean Oil Corporation (Nigeria) Limited. According to reports, he grew Pan Ocean Oil into one of the oil companies in Nigeria between 1984 to 1998. He was named Chairman of Pan Ocean Oil in 1998.
