Joe Mettle was born on the 5th July to Emmanuel Mettle and Florence Addo. He is the eldest child in a family and has other 5 siblings.He started his education at the Richard Akwei Memorial School but later moved to Kade 1&2 Primary School (Kade) where he spent about a year before returning to Accra, to the St. Michael's and All Angels. He continued to Korle Gonno 3 Junior High School (JHS) and then later to the Accra Academy.
Joe Mettle then proceeded to the Pentecost University College, a private Christian university college located at Sowutuom in Accra.
Career
Joe Mettle started his career as a backing vocalist for some Ghanaian top Gospel singers including Reverend Tom Bright Davies, Cindy Thompson and the late Danny Nettey.He was the lead singer for the indigenous multicultural music group, Soul Winners.
Joe Mettle has released so many nationwide hit songs including 'Yesu Adi Nkunim', 'Mensuro', 'Medo Wo', 'Turning Around', 'Akokyem Nyame' and 'Nhyira'. He also has five albums to his credit, namely; 'Onwanwani', 'My Gratitude', 'Sound of Praise', 'The Encounter' and 'Wind Of Revival'.
