Akinmayokun Awodumila was born on the 28th of December, 1984 in Lagos State, Nigeria. He had his primary and secondary education in Lagos State. After obtaining his SSCE, he gained an admission into the prestigious University of Lagos where he graduated with a degree in Mass Communication.May D started his music career in Lagos and rose to stardom in 2011, the same year he got signed to the R&B duo P-Square record label "Square records".
