Abdullahi Sule Biography, Date Of Birth, Early Life, Family And Education

Abdullahi Sule was born on the 26th of December, 1959 in Gudi Station, Akwanga-West Development Area of Nasarawa State. He had his early education at Roman Catholic Mission (RMC) Primary School, Gudi Station. 

After obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate, he enrolled at the Zang Secondary School for his secondary education. He further proceeded to Government Technical College, Bukuru, completing his secondary education in 1977.

In 1980, he gained admission to study Plateau State Polytechnic, in Barkin Ladi, before leaving Nigeria on a scholarship to study at Indiana University, Terre Haute, Indiana, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Technology. He also holds a Master's Degree in Industrial Technology from the institution.

Career and Politics

In 1985, he returned to Nigeria and started serving as a youth corps member with the Plateau Utilities Board. The same year, he joined the Jos Steel Rolling Mill as a Production Engineer.

In 1989, returned to the United States, where he worked for several companies, including Lancer Corporation, OEM component and Osyka Corporation before returning to Nigerian in 2000. Upon his return to Nigeria, co-founded Sadiq Petroleum Nigeria Limited in Lagos and was made the managing director/CEO.

In 2001, after his company won a bid to acquire African Petroleum (AP) Plc, Sule became the CEO of AP. He was also announced as the substantive Group Managing Director (GMD) of Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. on June 21st, 2018.

Sule emerged as the Governor-elect of Nasarawa State after winning the 2019 Governorship Election which held on March 9, 2019.
