Mark Kariuki was born in Elburgon, Nakuru District, to the family of Daniel and Monica Kariuki. He had his primary education at Michinda Primary School, Elburgon before proceeding to Koelel High School in Gilgil for his secondary education.He further joined the prestigious Asumbi Teachers Training College for a two – year teaching program (1973 – 1975). He got born again while in College and continued serving the Lord, even after he got posted to a school in Mombasa.
Pastoral Career
Mark Kariuki met some brethren while working as a teacher in Mombasa and they served God together. With time, he resigned from his teaching career to venture into full-time ministry, a move he never regretted.
His church, Deliverance Church Kenya has grown into over 1,200 branches all over the world with a 3000 member church located in Nairobi, Kenya.
Bishop Mark Kariuki is a clear definition of a charismatic leader, visionary, provocative thinker, and businessman. His weekly program, 'Celebration Time' which airs on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) every Sundays between 9:00am to 9:30am has positively impacted thousands of people both in Kenya and beyond.
Bishop Kariuki was the Chairman of the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK). He is currently the moderator of the inter-religious council of Kenya and a member of the African Council of Apostles.

Bishop Mark Kariuki is happily married to Pastor Joyce Wacera Kariuki. His first wife, Joyce Wangui Kariuki passed away in November 2007, after being in ICU for two months.
He got married to Joyce Wacera in May 2013, after over 6 years of losing his first wife. Bishop Mark is blessed with three children, Daniel, Nicky and Lynne and 2 grandchildren.
