Nick Mutuma was born on the 22nd of September, 1988 in Meru, Kenya but he grew up at Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. He had his primary education at The International School of Tanganyika. Mutuma discovered his love for performance art at a very early age and would often participate in school plays.He enrolled at Braeside School in Nairobi for his secondary education. After completing his high-school education (O-level), Mutuma joined The United States International University, Nairobi for his university education, graduating in 2010 with a B.Sc in International Business Administration.
Entertainment Career
Nick Mutuma started his acting career at a very early age. He recorded his break in the industry in 2008 when he cast as 'Luka', a young naïve college student living in poverty, who gets involved with a "sugar mummy". The movie, in addition to the controversial role he played, helped shoot him to the limelight.The same year, he starred in MNETs first Pan-African drama series Changes. The movie was directed by Tosh Gitonga and he played the role of Richard, a young man who learns that he was kidnapped from the hospital after being born. His is a journey of coming of age and seeking identity.
In 2014, Mutuma starred in Zuku series State House, directed by Wanuri Kahiu. He played the spoiled and stubborn son of the president of Kenya, who falls in love with the daughter of one of the staff.
In 2016, he played the role of Tomide in the hit Nigerian online series 'This Is It'. 'This Is It' was created, written and directed by Dolapo Adeleke and received an AMVCA Nomination 2018 for Best TV Series.
In 2018, he starred in Kenyan RomCom 'Disconnect', where he was also credited as associate producer on the film. The same year, he also joined the cast of Skinny Girl in Transit for the fifth season of the popular YouTube series.
In 2019, Nick Mutuma directed his first movie, 'You Again'. He is currently 'Sincerely Daisy', a teen movie.
