Teresia Wairimu Biography and Career

Teresia Wairimu was born on the 15th of November, 1957 to Njeri Kinuthia and Kinuthia Kinyanjui. Her grandfather, Paramount Chief Kinyanjui was a Kikuyu colonial chief. Teresia attended Ngiriambu Girls High School, where she sat for her KCSE.

Teresia Wairimu gave her life to Christ in 1977. She had a special encounter with the Lord that changed her life permanently. According to the story, in the early hours of July 21st, 1985, she was in the room when the whole place got filled up with smoke. At a point, she heard a loud voice which called her name 'Wairimu'. She perceived that it was the voice of the Lord and sat up, while God spoke to her about her calling and service to Him. A week after the encounter, during a Sunday service, God manifested His power through Reverend Wairimu through the gift of prophecy and word of knowledge.

During that period, Kenya didn't have many manifestations of miracles and there were no mentors to look up to. In June 1988, Reverend Bonnke hosted a crusade and Reverend Wairimu witnessed the manifestation of God through his servant. After the call, she started ministering in small social gathering and schools. In May 1992, Teresia Wairimu met Reverend Bonnke while in Oslo-Norway and he laid his hands on her.

On returning back to Kenya, Rev Wairimu began the ministry in a house fellowship. Within a short period of time, the movement exploded and the had to move to City hall then Kenyatta International Conference Centre (One of the largest auditoriums in the city). The hall also wasn't enough, as they had only one fellowship there before moving to the open Uhuru Park.
