Taiwo Hassan Biography and Career
Taiwo Hassan was born on the 31st of October, 1959 in Ilaro, Ogun State, Nigeria. He had his primary education at Christ Church School, Ilaro. After obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate, he enrolled at a technical college where he trained as an automobile mechanic.He started working as an auto mechanic at the water corporation. In 1981, he began his career as an actor. He retired from the government work in 1994 to concentrate on acting. The same year, he got paid ₦1,200 for his role in the movie 'Omo Yoruba'. The amount was big then, as the highest-paid actors charged about ₦1,500.
He began producing movies in 1993 and his first movie was 'Wicked Boy'. In an interview with Legit.NG, he revealed that the movie was shot in two parts because he wanted the best results. He spent over ₦70,000 on the movie then, while many producers were doing theirs for less than ₦20,000. The movie was a huge success and he was paid a royalty of over ₦2 million, which was a huge amount in the 90s.
Aside from acting, Taiwo Hassan is also a singer. He released his first album titled 'Appreciation' in 2009.
