
The robots are loaded with sensors and can move independently in all directions. They will be assisting the traffic police to perform duties like taking photos of vehicles violating parking rules, direct traffic and verifying driver's licenses.
The team of robots would be China's first "robot traffic police" on duty, according to Zhou Zuoying, deputy head of the Traffic Management Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security.
Parties including the Handan municipal public security bureau in Hebei Province, in China, developed the robots.
