5 Reasons You Should NEVER Kill A House Centipede
Centipedes are elongated creatures with one pair of legs per body segment and are commonly found in cool areas.
They belong to the class Chilopoda of the subphylum Myriapoda, an arthropod group which also includes Millipedes and other multi-legged creatures.
There is nothing as terrifying as seeing the 15-legged critter shoot across your floor and under your couch at a 1.3 feet-per-second speed. It's so fast that it will always escapes before you rush to get your shoe or any other thing you want to use on it.
This makes it so terrifying coupled with a lot of stories we hear regarding the centipede. For example as a kid, I always heard that if the centipede stings you, your sex will automatically change. That is, if it stings a guy, he'll change to a lady and vice versa. I later had to understand that kids were made to believe this because of the nature of the creature. You know, identifying the male and the female centipede is not really easy as they're so similar in appearance unlike other animals.
