Apple To Ship Over 80 Million 5G Phones In 2020
Reliable sources have revealed that Apple Inc. is already mobilizing suppliers to produce its first ever 5G iPhones in 2020.
According to the information, the American tech giant will be releasing three phone models with the most advanced mobile processors available and leading-edge screens.
This might go a long way towards helping Apple reclaim its crown as the world's most innovative tech company. Apple hopes this will vault it over Huawei's current position as the second-biggest smartphone maker. It'll also likely accelerate global carriers to roll out 5G telecoms infrastructure -- especially outside China, which has already invested heavily in the nascent technology.

Recall that Huawei Technologies recently won the award for the 'Best 5G Core Network Technology' 2019 in the UK after obtaining commercial 5G contracts in over 30 countries.

Apple has been reluctant in embracing the 5G connectivity its latest release, the iPhone 11 series only featured 4G wireless technology. We are however hoping that this move will go a long way towards helping the tech giant in reclaiming its former glory as the maker of the world's "must-have" smartphones.

The sources also revealed that the company plans on shipping at least 80 million of the new 5G phones. Rivals in the industry like Samsung Electronics, Huawei Technologies and second-tier competitors such as Xiaomi and Oppo have already launched 5G phones.

While the rest of the world is already celebrating the 5G technology, the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) released a statement stating that the 5G connectivity will be undergoing a 3 months test before approval.
