This year's season will be different from the other ones in the sense that interested Nigerians will have to audition online.
According to a post published by the Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the host, potential contestants must have be at least 21 years of age by June 1, 2020. It is only open to interested male and female participants who are of Nigerian nationality with a valid Nigerian passport.

Potential contestants must be at least 21 years of age, and of Nigerian nationality. You'd be required to follow the following steps:• Record a two-minute video of yourself stating why you should be picked to be a Housemate in season 5 of Big Brother Naija
• Log in to http://africamagic.tv/bbaudition to fill the registration form and upload the video
• The 2020 BBNaija online audition process will run from May 20 till May 30.
• The online audition is free of charge, so kindly ignore anyone telling you to pay either to manoeuvre the process or for submission of forms.
